Many teddy bears have a purpose in life as companion to a child. I learned just how hard this can be when I read a review of the children’s books about Horrid Henry. Henry is so horrid that “Even his teddy avoided him when possible.”

Henry’s problem is his brother, Perfect Peter. Henry can’t compete by being good, so he’s perfectly horrid instead. Well, perhaps that’s the reason.

I’m glad I’m an only bear.
