Everybody takes photographs these days. (OK, I admit I don’t, but my favourite subject is me, so somebody else has to hold the camera and press the button.)

Taking good photographs in black-and-white is more difficult, so they are regarded as artistic and classy. A sketch or drawing is even more artistic and classy. The snag with a drawing is it takes ages and if you’re the model you have to sit very still.

This portrait of me is a compromise or, to be honest, it’s a fake. A photograph has been computer-processed so it looks like a pencil sketch.

I think the result looks sophisticated, which isn’t fake, because I’m a sophisticated bear.
